Footprint biometria2 As I wrote in another post a few weeks ago the technology biometric gradually replace all our old means of identification, house keys or car, identity documents, keys etc.

Why do we need to authenticate our identity objects if we use our own physiological characteristics such as method of identification?

No doubt the long term (when research costs are covered) will be more safe and economical. We will not have to worry if we forget the keys or we lose the cards or keys, and of course costs in ahorrarenos not need any identification material.

As almost always in all this technology the Japanese are ahead of us. While in the rest of the world only use certain biometric technologies in everyday life such as fingerprint authentication and hard drives in computers, the Japanese are preparing for a significant change: Fingerprint shopping.

Since September, some 200 workers at Hitachi will pay with your fingerprint in order to test a new system that has the support of several shops and JCB credit society.

Employees must pass your finger over a reader that will capture the image of the vascular system through a laser.

According to Hitachi, as the structure of the capillaries of the finger is unique and is unchanged over time, it is impossible to reproduce artificially. The biometric information of the buyer, transmitted electronically, will be compared at once with the registration of JCB and bank customer references.

The experiment, the first of its kind in Japan, aims to develop a technically and economically viable model before the planned commercial launch in the coming months.

Biometrics is a system that is widespread in Japan, particularly in enterprises and hospitals that they use to access control or network connections.
Nipponese Many banks have already implemented biometric tools to identify their customers when conducting transactions refund or transfer of money from ATMs.

Japanese banks have opted for the recognition of the vascular system of Hitachi's finger or the veins of hands proposed by Fujitsu, being safe procedures and without direct contact, ensuring hygiene and saves on costs maintenance.
